THANK YOU! Because of incredible friends like you, Family House is - and always will be - 100% free of charge for families dealing with a child's life-threatening illness. Your generous gift on #GivingTuesday (along with the dollar-for-dollar match) helped us to raise more than $70,000 making an immediate impact on patients like Enrique.
We're so grateful to call you part of the Family House family. This generous community of donors and volunteers helps us make Family House a home away from home. Together, we'll continue to deliver compassionate care, comfort and dignity to every family who walks through our doors. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for making a difference in the lives of the families we serve.
It's not too late to make an impact this holiday season - give now.

Giving Tuesday Success
Thank you to the many caring individuals whose generous #GivingTuesday gift to Family House helped us exceed our fundraising goal by 76% - we raised over $17,500 in just one day! And thanks to our Matching Gift Challenge, those dollars will be doubled, and even tripled in some cases (for gifts made by Family House volunteers).
We know that there are many great organizations you could choose to support, but as our founder, Dr. Art Ablin, always said: We believe there are none better. Your gift will make a huge impact for all the kids and families who stay under our roof, and help to provide a safe, comfortable, supportive home away from home for nearly 150 families.
Thanks again for being a partner in our efforts, and best wishes from our family to yours for a very happy and healthy holiday season.
With Gratitude,
Joanne Gold
Chief Development Officer

Giving Tuesday 2017
#GivingTuesday kicks off the holiday giving season on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday) - encouraging people to give back through gifts of your time, donations, goods, or your voice.
Celebrate Giving Tuesday this year on November 28, 2017 by giving to Family House. Here are some ways you can help:
Donate! We rely on the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to make sure that our services are always free to every family. We receive no government funding, and need you to help us meet our Giving Tuesday goal!
Volunteer! There are so many ways to volunteer at Family House - click here for inspiration, and fill out the Volunteer Application today to get started.
In-Kind Gifts! From gas cards to gift cards to canned goods for our pantry and toys for Fozzy’s Toy Room, your in-kind gifts round out the support we give our families. Visit our wish list on Amazon Smile for ideas.
Spread the Word! If you tell just 5 of your friends about the Family House mission to provide free, temporary housing for families of sick children undergoing medical treatment at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, we will dramatically increase our reach.
Thank you for all you do for Family House families for Giving Tuesday and year round!

Give Dignity this Holiday Season
Family House is the only home Joseph has ever known. He has been staying at Family House since he was weeks old, and he will be turning 4 years old this February.
Joseph stays at Family House with his mother, Nina, and his two teenage sisters, Emily and Denise, while his father Daniel works in LA. Daniel comes to SF as often as he can.
Joseph and his family have come to know our Hospitality Services team like family, and other children staying at Family House, like Edrey, as good friends.
Joseph continues to be in and out of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital for treatments related to Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome, but his prognosis is excellent.

Be Part of a Movement
It’s #GivingTuesday - be part of a movement - make a difference in the life of a child with cancer today!
Family House is on the brink of its greatest growth in our 35-year history, and we need your help today to make sure our ability to house more families is successful!
The new Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House in Mission Bay will open on March 2, 2016 to house 80 families per night, more than double our current capacity. To ensure that families can be as close to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital as possible, we must raise the funds to run the new house, and we can only do that with your support.

Without your
support of the Grand Family House, our families would sleep in their
cars or hospital waiting rooms for days and weeks at a time.
Please join us in keeping families together by providing care, courage, and a comforting “home away from home” completely free of charge. It’s the best holiday gift you can give.

Wishing you Peace, Love, and Hope
Manuel spent the first 10 weeks of his life in the hospital and at Family House. This 5-lb miracle baby was born with leukemia, and at only six days old, he underwent heart surgery to close a hole in his heart. This was followed by chemotherapy to treat his cancer. The day after this photo was taken, his parents, Patty & Rosendo, would bring him home for the first time.
Please donate today so that parents like Patty and Rosendo can focus on what matters most - their baby's health: https://familyhouse.ejoinme.org/holidaymiracles

Giving Tuesday
Do you know about #GivingTuesday? It's the nonprofit world's answer to Black Friday. Instead of focusing on consumerism, it's an appeal to give back. Please consider making a donation to Family House in someone's honor as a holiday gift. Helping a family in need (especially around the holidays) feels so much better than that "ugly sweater" you were thinking to give. http://www.familyhouseinc.org/donate.html
