To the amazing volunteers at Family House!
I want to take this moment to say thank you for all that you do for our families. With this week being National Volunteer Week, I want to reflect on how meaningful your service is, day in and day out. There are never enough hours in the day, but you, our volunteers, are able to donate your time and efforts to support families in crisis. Whether it's helping serve breakfast each morning; bringing your therapy dog for support; keeping the house disinfected; providing a beautiful family dinner; and everything in between, we absolutely could not provide the level of support that we do without our incredible volunteers.
Last year, we had over 4,200 volunteers support Family House (that is a staff-to-volunteer ratio of 1:140) and the impact is measured not just in numbers, but through the magic and love that is felt every day when you walk through the doors. We know there so many amazing nonprofits out there and you choose to help us. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support you bring to Family House. Thank you on behalf of Family House.
With Love and Appreciation,
Karen Banks

National Volunteer Week 2018
National Volunteer Week is April 15-21st! This year, we want to take a moment to truly thank all of you for your support.
We rely on the volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year to keep our doors open.
Over the past year, because of you, we have hosted more meals, celebrated more birthdays, spent time with more therapy dogs and disinfected our communal spaces more than ever before to support our 4,000 families. We absolutely could not provide all of our support services without each and every one of you.
We are coming up on two years of supporting families in our Mission Bay home and 3,277 of you were instrumental to that in 2017. Volunteer Week is about celebrating you and all that you do! Without our community of dedicated individuals, we simply would not be able to serve our families as we do. Thank you so much to everyone. Your volunteering makes a difference! Your support of Family House is the reason that we can positively impact the lives our families. We truly appreciate all of your efforts.
Sincerely,
Karen Banks, Director of Volunteer Programs
Tarence Dixon, Volunteer Coordinator

National Volunteer Week
Dear Volunteers,
This year for National Volunteer Week I want to take a moment to truly thank all of you for your support.
We rely on the volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year to keep our doors open. Over the past year, because of you, we accomplished a huge undertaking - moving into the new Nancy & Stephen Grand Family House at Mission Bay. More than 2,700 volunteers helped us move supplies, install closets, make beds, and open our new home with as much efficiently as possible, making a seamless transition for our families.
Since moving to Mission Bay, we have had hundreds of family meals served by volunteers, many therapy dog visits, and hours of arts and crafts activities to help families going through one of the most difficult times in their lives. A special shout out to the volunteers who have cleaned and disinfected the many common areas throughout the house - keeping our house germ-free is absolutely critical for the health and well-being of our families.
Volunteer Week is all about celebrating you and all that you do! Without our community of dedicated individuals, we simply would not be able to serve our families as we do.

Volunteer Appreciation Week
We have the greatest people surrounding us! Volunteers from all over the world find a small local charity in San Francisco called Family House where they make the choice to help. The entire existence of Family House could not have happened if it wasn't for volunteers.
Family House started with an all-volunteer staff. From the very beginning, it was volunteers that chose to come together to create a place where families would be taken care of. As the need to support more families started to grow, volunteers have been there every step of the way.
By providing meals, dogs to pet, yoga to relax, arts to create, a haircut to feel good, and maintaining the facilitates, volunteers have provided comfort and care to the families who stay with us. "It's as good as home." During the hardest time of their lives, volunteers make the experience at Family House so much better.
We send a big Thank You to over 1,700 volunteers who walk through our doors every year. As Family House moves to Mission Bay, our need for more dedicated, compassionate, quality volunteers will continue to grow. We are thrilled to be able to provide new opportunities for even more volunteers to get involved.
To all of our volunteers, thank you for making the choice to help provide families with community, comfort, and support to make them feel at home during their trying times.
