Thank you to Train's Pat Monahan for visiting Family House on the heels of your “Train Does Led Zeppelin II” tour! We love that you brought your kids to meet our kids (and make all the moms blush!). Let's Go Giants!

Toby's family got to enjoy a San Francisco Giants baseball game, thanks to the generosity of the Schwartz family, and they had this to say afterwards:

“Thank you so much for the great place to stay while Toby had his dental surgery. It is so nice when we can focus on Toby and not worry about where we are going to stay or how we will afford it. Thank you for the Giants tickets, it was such an unexpected joy. Toby and the whole family had such a great time. We usually don’t look forward to making these trips, but you have changed that. Thanks so much!”

Family House Family Stories: Goodbye from Irma and Santiago

Watch the latest Family House Family Stories video - Goodbye from Irma and Santiago. They've been staying with us for several years, and after this last good checkup, Santi is officially a cancer survivor, and they don't need to come back for checkups at UCSF anymore. We'll miss you guys!

Misty Moonlight Therapy Dog Visit

Thank you to James Schaffner and Misty Moonlight from 4PAWS for being our first Therapy Dog volunteers at the new Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House! James had this to say about their visit:

“With people and even a grassy patio area with bees in the flowers outside of the 2nd floor, there are 45 families already in residence. Julian and Oscar weren't too sure about Misty at first, but she won them over very quickly. It only took a couple Misty cards and some tricks. Shiloh and Misty were best friends instantly. Misty showed Shiloh how to roll over for a treat. Shiloh rolled over like Misty, but declined the treat. I told Shiloh that I wanted to teach Misty how to do a summersault but, since I couldn't do one, I couldn't show Misty how. I asked her if she could show Misty how to do a summersault - she did a couple and then asked Misty to do one. Misty just stared at Shiloh like she was from outer space.  As Yogi Berra once said, ‘You can observe a lot just by watching.’”
